Description
Issue Summary
In a Cloud-to-cloud migration, Soft Limits can cause failures, per Soft Limits for Cloud to Cloud migrations Jira.
These failures can result in situations that are not obvious, such as missing data or C2C plans not completing, but these failures are not necessarily evident, and when evident, not neccessarily actionable.
Steps to Reproduce
- Attempt to migrate projects exceeding the soft limits documented above.
Expected Results
- The migration will succeed or
- The migration fails with an error about exceeding a limit
Actual Results
- Errors are not thrown, so as an admin, it's unclear that something went wrong just from the errors
- OR
- C2C hangs or restarts the migration process
- Testing will reveal that shrinking the scope will solve a failure or resolve a problem.
Workaround
Workarounds for each type of scenario are listed already in the article. The problem is that it's not clear when they should be needed, from the C2C's behavior/reporting.
