Problem definition
Currently, the Jira C2C tool does not support the migration of projects that are already present on the destination Cloud site.
Suggested Solution
It would be helpful if we could have a differential migration feature in the C2C tool.
Have a migration saved in the source system, then click a button and the tool would take the projects/issues diffs, find the corresponding in the target system, and just apply the changes.
This helps because oftentimes, users keep working in the source systems even as we do the initial migration and it would save time instead of remigrating everything again to the cloud destination.
Workaround
The current workaround is to copy all the information to a newly created, dummy project, which will allow you to run the migration. Once in the destination, you copy the dummy project's content into the target project.
