JOB STORY

When I have marketplace apps installed and configured on my Jira & Confluence production instance

I want to be able to copy over the app data into my sandbox environment

So that the sandbox has a representative data set for me to do UAT testing

[CLOUD-11258] Ability to copy marketplace apps' data from production to sandbox

Gal Fatal added a comment -

We are using rich filter app and every copy data I need to create all the configurations from scratch - that makes the sandbox useless. II expect the configurations to be copied. or in alternative - keep them in the sandbox, give the option not to delete them.

This is a huge issue for us as we consolidate many on-prem instances to an enterprise cloud instance.  When we are promised by Atlassian that investing in a SaaS solution will save us on infrastructure maintenance costs, it should be safely assumed that we will have all of the critical features as we did when we controlled said infrastructure.

If you can't reliably test changes to your prod instance with a consistent testbed, you don't really have an enterprise solution, do you?  Give app developers direct endpoints into the snapshot process and require them to support sandboxes if they really want that "cloud fortified" moniker.

The same applies for us, we have subscribed to Jira Premium because we need a sandbox environment, but if our apps (Tempo, Asset...) are out of sync after a refresh from Production to Sandbox there is no point to keep a sandbox environment...

            Absolutely needed!

We are interested in this feature. It will allow for better testing of the migration to Cloud.

Can we please get an update on this?  Without the ability to copy App data from prod to sandbox it renders our sandbox useless

We really need this! a Sandbox enviroment without the apps configuration it's a non functional enviroment. And if you have an extensively configured production enviroment as we have it's impossible to configure everything manually.

Having a sandbox environment that doesn't include third party apps and data copied from the production environment beat the purpose to "A sandbox is an isolated environment where you can test and experiment before making changes to production".

Paying extra money for a feature that's not fully functional is terrible. I want to be able test settings on third party app that won't affect my production data and the teams that will be getting notification by test tickets and at the same time a real user would trigger a ticket that would not work properly while I'm doing test.

And yes I voted on this ticket but I don't think this should be an extra nice to have feature that people would need to vote for to have looked into and implement.

Will revisit in H2 of FY22.

            Please do so and update

How do you expect to turn DC and Server customers into cloud users, if there is no possibility to create proper test environments?

            Thank you!
