JIRA Cloud is very slow lately

      For a few weeks now our users report very slow JIRA Cloud performance. It's especially noticeable from 8am to 2pm PDT. For the record we are located in San Diego, CA, but remote users in other US timezones report performance issues too.

      Sometimes the load time is so bad that JIRA reports a "this ticket cannot be viewed right now" error, presumably a 504 wrapper. Last week's performance fixes per status page did not fix anything for us.

      We have investigated our own last mile connection and ruled out congestion there. Plus, remote users report the same slow-downs as in-office users.

      I'll add that site responsiveness gets a lot better around 4pm PDT and onward, as the rest of North America stops using the service. So it looks like cloud infrastructure overload to me.
