    • We collect Bitbucket feedback from various sources, and we evaluate what we've collected when planning our product roadmap. To understand how this piece of feedback will be reviewed, see our Implementation of New Features Policy.

When we take a branch from master/develop, a remote branch is created.

Sometimes we feel the need to have some information about this remote branch like when and from where it was created and any additional notes if any

[BSERV-9306] Branch should know its origin branch name

            bluebedi1898040788,

I'm not entirely sure what you mean by "remote branches". If the branch was not created by Bitbucket Server (for example, if a developer created the branch in their local repository), the system cannot "guess" where it branched from; only the developer who created it knows. If the branch was created by Bitbucket Server, there's an existing feature request (BSERV-4634) for Bitbucket Server to remember what branch was used as the starting point. You can track that change on the other issue.

I'm also not sure what "additional notes" you might be looking for. Perhaps you can clarify your request?

            Best regards,
            Bryan Turner
