Bitbucket can use the commit message to pre-populate the description of the pull request. However, it truncates the commit message at around 18 lines. See screenshot.
This is inconvenient, as users have to go back to their commit message and copy-paste the full message back into the description box. There isn't a limit on the length on the description of the pull request (or at least we haven't reached it).
I've attached the text I used for the commit message in the screenshot. Whilst this example is extreme, we do find that real commit messages are often longer than the truncation limit on Bitbucket.
