      Updated Status - Nov 1st 2021

We’re excited to announce the release of the Bitbucket Cloud Migration Assistant (BCMA), an app built to help you migrate your code and metadata from your Bitbucket Server instance to Bitbucket Cloud.

Built and maintained by Atlassian, this app is free to install and use, follow the link here to access it on the marketplace

With the BCMA, you can migrate:

      • Projects and repositories
      • Pull request diffs and metadata (comments, users, authors, reviewers)
      • Users, including inactive users so comments, author, and reviewer statuses are preserved.

After using the BCMA, admins can choose to migrate over permissions and groups manually.

      Original status

With the announcement of end of support for server on February 2nd, 2024, we are working on a migration assistant to enable our customers to move from Bitbucket Server to BitBucket Cloud !

To find out more about our migration assistant and sign up for our early access program, please see: https://www.atlassian.com/software/bitbucket/migration-assistant

We also have a public roadmap that lays out our pathway to the cloud: https://www.atlassian.com/roadmap/cloud?bitbucket=migration

For people migrating from BitBucket Server to BitBucket Cloud, there should be a way to import the users and groups from Bitbucket Server as well as the Pull Requests and Commit Comments.
