when using git submodules it's very easy for someone to forget to push their changes on a submodule, and push out the commit of that submodule on the parent. This can lead to repositories that aren't clonable anymore as there are missing commits for these submodules.
A plugin was developed a while ago (https://bitbucket.org/cofarrell/stash-submodule-safe-hook), but this needs to be upgraded to bitbucket-server-4.x
I was hoping someone on the Bitbucket team might be able to pick this up, and convert this to a standard offically supported plugin as this closes a giant hole in git, and can lead to serious issues.
