When including an inline link on a markdown page with empty parentheses the markdown page will load forever when opened.

To reproduce:

1. Create a markdown page with a link as follows:

   A direct testlink without a url [test]()
   

2. Open it and see the spinner rolling forever

Expected:
A page to be rendered or atleast some feedback. Github shows the parent folder.
Strangely the README.md is not affected
