Denying pull request can trigger merge

I clicked on the button to decline a pull request, and it was immediately merged. The activity stream for the pull request shows that it was declined, and then merged. I definitely did not want to merge it, and this is even stranger because once you've declined a pull request, the button to merge disappears.
