As a Stash administrator, it'd be good to be able to avoid daily outages when performing Stash backups. The current backup client solution does not address this issue.
Some enterprise customers might have a Stash instance as an important piece in their CI process plus a development team is distributed across different continents - situations in which you can't afford a long downtime.
Currently, the workaround as per the recommendation in the Data recovery and backups document, involves shutting down Stash and using your own scripts to backup the database and filesystem - a cold backup.
Mentioning the Data recovery and backups document:
With either strategy, schedule the backup window so as to minimise the impact on Stash availability. You might consider checking the access logs to determine patterns of lowest usage to help with this.
