Branch selector field renders but does not work with no js errors

Due to: jQuery executes scripts as soon as it is appended to a jQuery object rather than when it is appended to the dom. So the input might not be in the dom but the script initialising it has already run.

Workaround: Add the branch selector field to a jQuery object that's already in the dom.
