We would like to have our build server set tags in the git repo when it deploys a build to our various environments. Our repo would have tags like 'dev', 'stage', and 'live' to indicate which commits are currently deployed.

In order to support this we need two things:

Issue STASH-2795 to show tags in commit listing would provide the visibility we need to see what versions are currently deployed.

A way for the build server to update a tag. We could do this in native git, but it would be awesome if the rest api were expanded to allow stash to update the tag for us.
