It would be helpful for companies with gated code review processes (where say 5 developers have merge permissions) that they still have to submit pull requests and have another dev merge them into the main branch vs being able to merge in directly. This covers the case you want to make sure someone has OK'd the code to be merged in before it's able to get merged.
