Summary

Ensure the Commit Diff view provides a consistent, independently scrollable experience for the diff panel, matching the behavior of the Pull Request (PR) diff view and Source view.

Description

Currently, in Bitbucket Data Center (observed in v10.2.3), there is a layout inconsistency in the Commit Diff view (/bitbucket/PROJECT/repos/REPOS/commits/COMMIT) compared to other views like the PR diff or Source view.

The Issue:

• In the Commit Diff view, scrolling to the bottom of the diff panel alone is not sufficient to view all content.

• Users must additionally scroll the main page body (the outer browser scrollbar) to reach the end of the file content.

• This creates a "double scroll" experience that is cumbersome and inconsistent with other parts of the product.

Comparison:

• Source View: Works as expected; scrolling is contained within the component.

• Pull Request Diff View: Works as expected; the diff panel and file tree have independent scrollbars that fit within the viewport (provided the viewport height is sufficient).

Proposed Change

Modify the Commit Diff view layout so that the diff panel is contained within the visible viewport and has its own independent vertical scrollbar. Reaching the bottom of the diff panel should represent reaching the end of the content without requiring a secondary scroll of the main page body.

Steps to Reproduce (for context)

1. Open a repository in Bitbucket Data Center.

1. Navigate to a specific Commit with a large file change.

1. Attempt to scroll to the bottom of the diff.

1. Observe: The internal diff panel scrollbar hits the bottom, but the bottom of the file is still cut off until the main page body is also scrolled.
