When basic authentication is disabled on the Bitbucket Data Center, attempting to clone a repository prompts Bitbucket to request basic authentication. If you provide your username and a personal access token (PAT) as the password, the authentication fails.

Currently, it does not default to requesting bearer authentication, which would be ideal since basic authentication is already disabled on the Bitbucket side.

We suggest that Bitbucket should request a bearer authentication by default when basic authentication is disabled on the Bitbucket Data Center.
