Unable to create an applink between DC products where one of the products has bundled applinks v10

XMLWordPrintable

      Issue Summary

Unable to create an application link between DC products where one of the products has bundled the application links plugin v10. List of products using applinks v10:

      • Bitbucket 9
      • Confluence 9
      • Jira 10
      • Bamboo 10

For example Bamboo 9.2.0 is running applinks 9.0.11, and Bitbucket 9.0.0 is running applinks 10.0.13. When creating the applink from Bamboo 9 to Bitbucket 9, there will be an error in the UI, and the applink is not created.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Either:
        • Start creating an applink from a Bitbucket version without the fix (8.9.14 or earlier, 8.19.3 or earlier) to any Jira v10, Bamboo v10, Confluence v9 product OR
        • Start creating an applink from a non fixed version of a DC product to Bitbucket v9 e.g.:
          • Jira (9.4.24 or earlier, 9.12.11 or earlier)
          • Confluence (7.19.24 or earlier, 8.5.11 or earlier, 8.9.3 or earlier)
          • Bamboo (9.2.14 or earlier, 9.6.2 or earlier)

      Expected Results

      Successful applink creation

      Actual Results

Unable to create applink with the following error in the UI:

The remote application, '<APPLICATION_NAME>', is running an older version of the Application Links plugin.
It will not be possible to create the remote end of the link from this application.
However both ends of the link can be created using the older process in '<APPLICATION_NAME>'.

      Workaround

Create the applink from the newer product version e.g. Bitbucket v9, Confluence v9, Jira v10, Bamboo v10
