    Description

      As mentioned in BSERV-8490, utf8mb4 is not yet supported in Bitbucket, but it's not indicated on the Supported Platforms pages.

      Connecting Bitbucket Server to MySQL does mention that the database should be created with utf8 charset and utf8_bin collation.

      MySQL's default charset and collation are utf8mb4 and utf8mb4_0900_ai_ci, respectively, so there is a risk of customers using utf8mb4.
