This is more like a question than a suggestion . Would be great if you could help with info . 

As we know from Microsoft's compatibility certification documentation, in general the application support for certain sql server version is tied to the database compatibility level rather than sql server version itself.
Accordingly in general it is expected that applications should work normally when sql server is upgraded to higher version , but database compatibility version is supported.

My question is, if taking account the points above could we normally upgrade the sql server hosting the BItBucket database from version 2017 to version 2022 by preserving the supported compatibility level of the database ?
