Description
Currently, LDAP credentials are cached on the Bitbucket Data Center/Server side for a maximum of 5 minutes, and this value cannot be increased using the bitbucket.properties file. While this caching duration is suitable for most setups, instances with a high rate of authentication requests would benefit from caching passwords for a longer period, such as 15 minutes. This would reduce the number of round trips made to the LDAP server, decreasing the hits on the LDAP and improving the overall Bitbucket authentication requests.
Therefore, we suggest allowing an increase in the value of auth.cache.ttl to 15 minutes from the current maximum of 5 minutes.
