Git LFS 3.0 introduces support for a pure SSH protocol:

When connecting over SSH, the first attempt will be made to us `git-lfs-transfer`, the pure SSH protocol, and if it fails, Git LFS will fall back to the hybrid protocol using `git-lfs-authenticate`. Note that no major forges are known to support the pure SSH protocol at this time.
