Git 2.26 includes a change to replace the existing git am-based backend (now referred to as the "apply" backend) for git rebase with a new "merge" backend (previously referred to as the "interactive" backend). This change affects the output of git rebase and breaks error handling in certain cases when used with Bitbucket Server.
