    Description

Atlassian status as of March 2020

      Hi all,

I'm excited to share that in Bitbucket Server 7.0 we shipped redesigned and optimized pull request page. The new page has fast and smooth scrolling on side-by-side diffs of any size.

You can find more information in the Bitbucket Server 7.0 release notes and Pull Requests documentation.

Please, don't hesitate to leave feedback on the feature in the comments. This will help us to priorities further development.

      Issue Summary

When comparing file versions using the side-by-side view and using the search function on the left or right side of the compare view to find some words in the content, you can use buttons to search again (arrow up or down). After pressing the buttons several times you can scroll up and down the diff to see that the sides to not match to each other.

The content of the left and the right side is shifted and the red and green markers make no sense anymore.

      Steps to Reproduce

      1. Enable side-by-side-diff on a compare view with a file with lots of changes.
      2. Select the left or right side with a mouse click.
      3. Press CTRL+F to search for a word contained multiple times in the text.
      4. Use the search down or up arrow buttons multiple times (fast).
      5. Scroll up and down the scrollbar to check if left and right side match to each other.

      Expected Results

The two files in the diff are still aligned.

      Actual Results

      The files get misaligned.

      Workaround

      Refresh the page.
