Problem Definition

When using a delegated user directory with the option to "Synchronize Group Memberships", all groups associated to the user are synchronized.

Only a small subset of these groups are used to apply permissions to projects, repositories or globally.

This can lead to a significant amount of groups in the system that will have a negative impact on performance (e.g. when loading @ mentions in pull requests).

Suggested Solution

Provide a filter for the groups to be imported.
