Description
Original issue
For side-by-side diffs, you have to scroll all the way to the top of the file to go back to the overview or see the list of commits. If you have a change on line 3900 of a 4000 line file, have fun scrolling all the way to the top of the page to get back to the overview and commit history. This is more or less an artifact of side-by-side defaulting to showing the WHOLE FILE instead of just the contextual areas of the changes themselves. Technically there’s a key command you can use to switch to the overview tab from the webpage, but that’s a power-user feature and doesn’t address the obvious usability issue here.
Workaround
- Use Bitbucket Server's shortcut keys to switch between the Overview, Diff, and Commits tabs, "1", "2", and "3" respectively.
- Use your keyboard to get back to the top by using
- the Home key
- Cmd + UpArrow on macOs
