Authentication for static websites hosted in private repositories (BB-10642)

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

private repos have static pages, but there is no authentication to view these.

It would be nice to have a user login requirement as an option for private repo static pages. The pages feature is really useful during development. The BitBucket user authentication itself would be enough for us.

Absolutely required since Github has long had this. I can't believe this needs to be asked for.

We have this feature in our github and gitlab projects now for hosting private design documentation generated by Sphinx.  Is this something that will be supported soon in BB as is becoming a critical feature requested by our clients and team members?

It's a shame that almost 10 years after this issue being opened nobody prioritized this feature.

We have a private repository hosting a static page. Goes without saying that anyone without read access to that repository shouldn't be able to retrieve any code from it, even static html pages. This is a security breach from the repository and should be handled accordingly.

It would be highly beneficial. Because we use Bitbucket Pages for Test Reporting and having publicly available is a matter of security concern for us.
