I have a README.md file in the root of one of my repositories. At the bottom of the document, I include a copyright notice which uses the © (ampersand copy semicolon) HTML entity. This doesn't get converted to the © (circle-C) symbol by your Markdown processor; it shows up in the converted document at © (ampersand copy semicolon). This should be converted as stated in the Markdown specification.
