Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.
Hello, the HipChat hook is working fine, but we miss a very simple option that we loved on GitHub: the room notification option. With it turned on, room members would receive a notification once a commit is pushed to a repo. Right now they have to remember to check the room every once in a while, which isn't optimal in certain circumstances.
[BCLOUD-5974] Add room notification option to HipChat Service Hook (BB-7167)
Thanks for taking the time to reach out and raise this ticket.
In mid-2018, we announced that we will be discontinuing both Hipchat and Stride.
Because of the strength of our integrations, we're encouraging customers to move to Slack. Atlassian's partnership with Slack will include co-built native integrations of Slack within our product family, creating a seamless teamwork experience.
Given this ticket was a request for Bitbucket and HipChat, I'm going to close this ticket. However, if this ticket concerns an improvement that you would like to see in the Bitbucket and Slack integration, feel free to reopen this ticket.
It's incredibly frustrating. It's been open for years, it's a seemingly trivial change, but a significant difference in functionality.
We use "?notify=1" for old repos that use the old hook, but really miss it with new ones. Having to check the room kind of defeats the purpose of having notifications!
+1
We need it truely because any kind of repository action we made in bitbucket, it sends message to hipchat without notification. It is really crazy to look all the time in the chat room.
There is "walk around" solution with the Mailroom bot. You can create email and assign this mail to the Bitbucket notifications. Then from this mail you can forward the mails to the Mailroom bot and it will send messages to the room and trigger notifications.
Still +1. And raise this issue to minor at least...
Please add this feature to the HipChat add-on. We wanted to use the HipChat integration to our BitBucket team repository, but this make as to drop it for now.
Hi all, I found that there is a way to enable desktop notification:
Go to Admin > Hooks > HipChat and update the API URL text box to https://api.hipchat.com/v1/rooms/message?notify=1
This works for me. But I am not sure if there are any limitations.
Yes, this isn't working. I was wondering why I stopped getting notifications, then I realized it's because GitHub does it but not BitBucket. +1
+1 for this, with HipChat Api that's only just passing the "notify=1|0" into the API.
Removing component: Hipchat integration (automated comment)
