There is a possibility to support both bazaar and mercurial?

            [BCLOUD-476] Bazaar support

Anonymous> What about a representative poll? I would also love to see Bazaar support.

Dylan Etkin> We just don't see the demand that would make it worth our development investment.

What is the source of you saying you "just don't see the demand", please ? Did you actually run the poll ? Would you reconsider the "wontfix" status ?
            I'm surely agree with:
Emanuel Jesus> Bazaar is always my first choice for a DVCS, .., but I'm forced to use Mercurial or Git .. I'd love to have Bazaar support in Bitbucket.

Bazaar is always my first choice for a DVCS, for several technical reasons, but I'm forced to use Mercurial or Git when I start working on a project that already uses one of those or when I use Bitbucket, which I consider a great service. I'd love to have Bazaar support in Bitbucket.

I really want to use Bazaar as my DVCS of choice. Yes, it is inactive, but it is technically a better DVCS than Git or Mercurial.

Bazaar is very well engineered, and there is some recent activity to jump start it again.

I would really like to use BitBucket for all my projects and have Bazaar support. I understand it is low priority for BitBucket/Atlassian, but I was wondering what it would take for Bazaar developers to be able to add Bazaar support to BitBucket. i.e. would BitBucket owners allow others to contribute to it's functionality?

Can the current system be segregated to avoid disrupting it during development?

Is there some kind of external API that can be used to provide a Bazaar plugin to BB?

So in essence, how can BB, with minimal effort, assist the Bazaar community to add Bazaar support to BB?

            Cheers, Brendan.

            Hi All,

I will be honest with you all. We have no plans to support Bazaar. This is no reflection on the tool.

We just don't see the demand that would make it worth our development investment.

Right now Git and Hg are the two DVCS's we find most users are looking for. If that changes in the future we will reconsider supporting whatever VCS demands that attention.

Thank you for your understanding, cheers,

            Dylan

On Hold. Why? Is there any plan to actually support native Bazaar in the near future? What is holding up this feature? Is it business buy in from Atlassian, or just lack of resources to implement it? Surely there would be some Bazaar developers/users willing to assist in implementing this.

            +1.
My company uses Bazaar and want to use BitBucket or Github for git&Bazaar hosting.

Yes. Please add Bazaar as a native repo. Currently I have to either use a bzr-git or bzr-hg backend. Having native support would be very cool, and BitBucket would be the ONLY site (that I know of) that supports all three major DVCS (Git, Mercurial and Bazaar).

So any updates on whether there are plans to do this ???

            Thanks, Brendan.

Now that Git support has been added, there must be some infrastructure for multiple version control systems, so perhaps the time is right: please consider supporting Bazaar in addition to Git and Mercurial.
