      Bitbucket Cloud has a merge check Maximum number of commits behind destination branch in the branch restrictions.

      Some users would like to use this merge check with a different branch instead of the destination branch, e.g., specifying the repo's main branch instead because of their branching strategy.

      Suggested Solution

      Allow users to choose a branch for the Maximum number of commits behind merge check.
