Issue Summary

Customer has logged an issue as a support ticket stating that when entering multiple lines of formatting in the "description" field within the import tool - all the text is flattened on one line

They have suggested the following to remedy the situation:
(1) handle the description field either verbatim or as markdown
(2) prevent use of newlines in the description field as this creates the misleading impression that they will appear in the output

Steps to Reproduce

Use "Import repository" (or "Create repository")
Expand "Advanced settings"
Enter the following in "Description" (including newlines):

This is a description

The text entry box supports newlines.

• so we'll enter a note
• and another note

  ---

Once repository is created, view the repository. The text in "description" appears at the top below the repository name.

Expected Results

• Description is either rendered verbatim or parsed as Markdown

  Actual Results

• Description is flattened and appears all on a single line.

  Workaround

Currently there is no known workaround for this behavior. A workaround will be added here when available
