Yes I agree, I work for a major fortune 500 company and we really need lfs file locking to work in Bitbucket cloud, as our source code is very old and stored in binary files, we have no way to do concurrent development and merges, we use tfs source control now and by pure luck was able to get local workspace working in a way that would only allow 1 person to check out the file at a time. But we really want to move our code base to bitbucket, our company is all in with bitbucket, I can create a repository and so forth, ran git lfs install, can track files with lfs, just the main feature we need, "lock" fails and gives the same error everyone else is seeing.

Any idea when this will work in Bitbucket cloud, very crucial for us or we are stuck in tfs and cannot use git, not even git in tfs for that reason. If a developer or someone high up from Bitbucket sees this, please feel free to reach out to me to discuss this issue, as I will be glad to give more information or would like to work with someone to get this resolved as soon as possible.

Seeing a similar issue when trying to setup git LFS for my UE4 project tonight:

Error while retrieving locks: Repository or object not found: https://<username>@bitbucket.org/<username>/<repo>.git/info/lfs/locks?refspec=refs%2Fheads%2Fmaster

When I run the command “git lfs locks”, I get a similar error for my team repository.

I wonder if it is related to this issue.

Being Video game developer, we need LFS file locking system for our projects. I hope that LFS file locking system will be released as soon as possible to Bitbucket cloud users as well as server users.
