    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

      It would be neat if project owners (writers?) had access to various statistics about their projects;

      For example the number of unique ip's have cloned the repository, how many people have accessed the wiki etc.

      Just some general statistics to gauge how popular your project might be, without any specific data like request logs.

            Why is this so difficult to implement? If BB can't do even a single statistic I wonder what will happen when a security flaw is discovered. Will you also respond, "Our architecture don't allow to fix the security flaw" seems BB shouldn't be used for anything serious,

            This is ridiculous! This request is here from 2008 and the Bitbuckte team continues to ignore this simple request. We badly need the download statistics for DOE and other funding agencies. Time to give up bitbucket.

            I agree with previous, without the statistics we will be unable to keep using BB, since we need it (quite critically) to request funding for research and software development.

            Once you have popularity statistics, then you should also have search sorted by most popular project. You really need this if you want bitbucket to be the goto place to find software.

            As aschaumberg mentioned, this is not just useful, it is a requirement by DOE and other government agencies, which makes this a critical feature.

            This is especially important for writing research grant proposals and progress reports related to projects hosted by bitbucket. Download statistics help to demonstrate the existence of a user community and help to document potential impact.
