Character and Line spacing on Readme Markdown code block issue - specially when accessing from Mobile Devices

XMLWordPrintable

      Hello,

      We're using the Readme.md (Markdown) to document our project. Part of the documentation uses ASCII drawing which is not rendered 100% correct for two reasons:

      Line Spacing

      On A PC Chrome Browser or in a Chrome running on Android Devices the line spacing is set to be 1.4 - Although that might look nice, this is not the best for "monospace" or "<pre>" blocks where we normally expect to be 1x1 character.

      Example:

      #!
             ┌─┐
             │o│
             │o│
             │o│
             └─┘

      As you can see above the "image supposed to be a closed box, but there are gaps between the lines.

      Character Spacing on Mobile Device

      Opening the same blocks on an Android Device, using Chrome (sorry I don't have IPhone to test from it), there's also other issue, where the whole character space gets corrupted. I've attached two screenshots, showing the PC (Windows + Chrome) and the Android version of the same page:
