Hi there,
I was struggling with profile images not showing up for my users. And I eventually realized that the problem was Ghostery, preventing gravatar tracking. When ghostery blocks the gravatar tracker - profile avatars show up as a white box, which means they are invisible on most pages.
So if you are not seeing images for your members. Check to see if you have a tracker blocker like Ghostery active.
