As of the last update, it seems I and many others heavily relied on the last modified / recently updated repositories being at the top of the dashboard.
Now being sorted alphabetically makes it harder to go through recent projects.
Somewhat related: Issue BCLOUD-9620: mentions the option to change the sorting which has not been implemented in the recent changes.
Issue BCLOUD-6899 also mentions sorting on dashboard
Issue BCLOUD-12252 is about no longer having recently modified, and alphabetically sorting doesn't mention last modified.
Issue BCLOUD-12251 explains around the difficulty of finding recently modified repositories.
It seems sorting on the dashboard has been requested in places since early 2013, almost 3 years now.
Adding sorting options to the dashboard is likely to help a lot of people and address the fact some users prefer alphabetical and others prefer modified date.

We're working on an update that will allow you to sort by last modified and generally make the dashboard more flexible. I'll post updates here as I have them.
Update / 2016-02-25 / @benechols
Today we shipped an update to the dashboard that restores the last updated column, and allows you to sort by any column you want. Your preference will be saved, so you won't have to re-sort whenever you return to the page. For more details, check out the blog post. Happy coding!
