We have the need to pull the current build number from Bamboo into a file that is distributed as part of our software. This allows us to view what build a customer is using when we get support issues (through a Help/About window).

We have tried using 'getLatestBuildResults.action' in our build script, but this returns the PREVIOUS build details not the CURRENT build.

This would be a great feature for us, and hope you'll consider implementation.

Solution

In order to refer to the Bamboo build number please use ${bamboo.buildNumber} build variable.
