Artifact Unique Name Test False Negative Result

Problem

The unique name check for shared artifacts gives false negative when certain conditions are met.

Environment

Bamboo 8.1.2

Steps to Reproduce

• Create an artifact definition with a space in the name.
• Create a second artifact with the same string but where the space is a dash instead.

Expected Results

• This would fail the uniqueness check OR
• This would create two artifacts each with their correct name.

Actual Results

• Because spaces are stripped and replaced with dashes the original artifact is overwritten by the second using the original name.

Workaround

Use unique artifact names.
