Currently we do not have documentation explaining the behavior of variables that contain secret/password in their name.

The only mention is in the bottom note of: https://confluence.atlassian.com/bamboo/defining-global-variables-289277112.html where only "password" is mentioned.

Please add secret and if possible create a dedicated page providing more information.
