Bamboo 6.10 currently supports the MySQL versions 5.6.3 and 5.7, though not yet 8.0 which is on the market since almost 1 and a half years.

Would be great to test compatibility for it with an upcoming new Bamboo release and, if passing, officially support it.

[BAM-20739] Bamboo support for MySQL 8.0

Getting more votes on this Jira should not be the trigger to start ahead and make this possible.

Atlassian is also responsible to ahead to the game here. Not just wait from customers to ask for it.

I am about to upgrade our Bamboo instance and I really need to know if MySQL 8 is supported.

It also happened that we are migration OUT of MySQL 5.7 as we speak.

This should be a hot topic...... The difference here is that I am trying to upgrade from 6.10.4 to 7.2

It's been over half a year since, no answer from Atlassian here... MySQL 5.7 is EOL on most platforms , why is there still no update on this ?

Any idea on when MySQL 8 will be supported?  It appears to be either supported or about to be released in your other Atlassian products so why not in Bamboo?

I'd like to see this suggestion implemented.

We really need to start a migration soon, MySQL 5.X is simply getting too old and costly to maintain

Premier support for MySQL 5.7 will end in October 2020 (less than one year away).

It's our understanding that at that point, the cost of support for 5.7 will have 10% increase.

We need to start planning our MySQL 8.0 upgrade strategy,
