    Description

      Problem Definition

Currently there are multiple jobs in build queue. When the service is restarted, there is no way to preserve the existing builds that are in queue. These will be purged after a server restart.

      Suggested Solution

There has to be a way to preserve all the builds that are in queue and resume after a server/bamboo restart.

      Why this is important

Critical server patches need a periodic server restart and if Bamboo clears all the builds that are in queue, it is not feasible to automate the restart.

      Workaround

      • Pause Bamboo well ahead of the server restart
      • Wait for all the running builds to finish
      • As we have paused, none of the new builds will be queued
      • We will still miss the existing ones during a restart.
