Summary

Bamboo's stop script is unreliable leaving process in hung state preventing further start up from running.

Environment

• Bamboo v6.1.1

Steps to Reproduce

• Start Bamboo following Running Bamboo as a Linux service OR
• Start Bamboo from <bamboo-install>/bin/start-bamboo.sh
• Stop Bamboo

Expected Results

• Bamboo and Tomcat should stop gracefully

Actual Results

• Bamboo's process does not stop, being necessary:
  • reviewing (ps aux | grep bamboo) and killing process (kill -9 PID) OR
  • running Stop command for the 2nd time

Notes

• Documentation Running Bamboo as a Linux service should be updated with script to handle return codes properly
