    XMLWordPrintable

Details

    Description

      Summary

      • User is unable to authenticate in Bamboo when:
        • Delegated LDAP is set up in Crowd
        • Bamboo is connected to use Crowd as User Management
      • unless:
        • user has previously authenticated against Crowd Application, so user can be synchronised with Crowd making it available to Bamboo

      Environment

      • Crowd v2.9.1, v2.11.1
      • JIRA v7.2.7
      • Bamboo v5.15.5, v6.0.3

      Steps to Reproduce

      • Set up a Delegated LDAP directory in Crowd
      • Create a Bamboo application in Crowd using the directory from above
      • Set up Crowd with Bamboo under Bamboo administration >> Overview >> Security >> User repositories
      • Attempt on login in Bamboo with a user that has not logged in Crowd

      Expected Results

      • As per other Atlassian products, Bamboo should authenticate against Crowd

      Actual Results

      • User is unable to authenticate
2017-06-20 16:06:47,891 INFO [http-nio-8085-exec-2] [DefaultAuthenticator] login : 'user0001' could not be authenticated with the given password
2017-06-20 16:06:47,892 WARN [http-nio-8085-exec-2] [DefaultAuthenticator] login : 'user0001' tried to login but they do not have USE permission or weren't found. Deleting remember me cookie.

      Notes

      • Same issue happens when using JIRA instead of Crowd
      • Issue does not happen if using Confluence instead Bamboo (for reference)
