Clone linked repository

Sometimes I need to create a clone of existing linked repository and change only branch name. It might be too complex due of additional settings (regexp etc). 

I would like to have an ability to clone repository and change only the branch and name. 

My use case is: I create plans for each stable JIRA version and I have projects with plan clones for each stable branch, so that I don't have to use branch view with plans that are on this repo but does not contribute to the health of that branch. I can use projects, I can have a bookmark that takes me to the overview of my branch (like: https://server-gdn-bamboo.internal.atlassian.com/browse/J72SPT).

Every time I cut another stable branch I need to clone my branches.
