Ability to skip manual stage(s)

If I have two or more manual stages and let's say select the 2nd one to be run, then the 1st is auto selected (unwanted) but even more than that, this is getting ready only and cannot be deselected.

Searching the Web for a workaround ("skip manual stages in Bamboo") I found that it has been complained about that quite frequently.

We, a Team at Citrix Systems Inc., have this issue independently from deployment (where another ticket in this Jira points to as resolved).

Our user story:
As developers using Bamboo for CI,
we would like to have the option to selectively run (manual) stages without the need to run every manual stage prior to which was selected,
so that a developer who manually triggered stages selectively, is getting early result(s) just of that single / selected stage(s) he is interested in.
