Provide search mechanism to both Plan and System audit logs

    • Our product teams collect and evaluate feedback from a number of different sources. To learn more about how we use customer feedback in the planning process, check out our new feature policy.

It would be nice to have a search mechanism in Bamboo to both Plan and System audit logs. This way users can easily try to find what they're looking for instead of having to go over all the information and pages. Specially because audit logs inside Plans are very meticulous, meaning that a lot of information is stored there and you can easily find yourself lost trying to filter/find a specific information. As an example, JIRA has a similar search mechanism in its audit log interface:

Someday the walls of the silos may be broken down and the common features will be standardized across platforms. Bamboo team could likely reuse a lot of what Jira & Crowd teams have accomplished - they've all come a long way on audit logging since I begged for them to implement in crowd back at the San Jose summit! Let's keep that momentum & spread that greatness out to the rest of the Atlassian products! #usefulauditloggingforall !

Typical Atlassian.  Do your jobs please and add a search function to the audit log in the UI.

            Hello Atlassian,

As managing an enterprise application of more than 15000 user base with events triggering every second then such functionality is needed to filter certain events on certain period. You should also think of how an administrator can make use of Bamboo UI more instead of debugging logs from server or running sql queries on a 3rd party/on DB server to avoid manual effort of filtration.

If you can do in Jira and Bitbucket then why not in Bamboo.

            Regards
            Bhakti

            Hi Atlassian,

            Any update?

            Hi Atlassian,
The reporter of this is inactive and is not assigned to anyone.
It is extremely dificult to figure out what change was made at a system level that would cause builds to break when all activities are not logged and it is not easy to search. What is your solution to this problem?

A lot of Bamboo features does not create a audit trace, specifically when permissions are added to build plans. This will be required by us soon, and not having this feature will mean we will have to work around it.

More than four years since the creation of this ticket, and this feature is still not available.

IMO it was entirely pointless adding the audit logs page without a way to search on it.

Please add this feature, it's sorely needed.

            Hello team!

I thought this feature should be out-the-box.

Do you have any plans to implement it?  It will be nice see this a small feature

            Thanks

            .

I added a screen shot of what I am currently able to do in Jenkins.

            Joshua,

            My ask is pretty simple...

IMO, this is a real must-have! Jenkins provides a ridiculously easy way to look for and compare changes (what changed) between job configurations and lets users visualize the differences. It is very troubling that Bamboo doesn't do this 'cleanly' and you can to parse the Audit Logs.
Perhaps I am not doing this correctly...There has to be an easier/another way to get this info out of Bamboo....
