Standard support of latest version of Oracle database 11g (11.2.0.4) ends in January 2016. After that time a premium subscription will be required to obtain support from Oracle.

Therefore we require support for Oracle 12c database in Bamboo ideally by early December 2015.

      • Are there any known issues running Bamboo with an Oracle 12c backend database?
      • Are there any database features being used by Bamboo which are deprecated in 12c?

[BAM-15685] Support for Oracle 12c database in Bamboo

Basic Bamboo (5.9.7) seems to work with Oracle 12c without any issues. I was able to setup a bamboo instance against 12c and run a few plans. However we struck trouble with an add-on for SonarQube, it would not accept the configuration parameters (see my question at https://answers.atlassian.com/questions/37029886/cannot-configure-sonarqube-bamboo-add-on---validation-failed).

However this does not get away from the fact that Oracle 11g entered extended support 14 months ago... and other Atlassian products no longer support 11g.

We have JIRA & Confluence in Oracle 12c. If no Oracle 12c support, then we cannot go with Bamboo. Our time line to make a decision on CI is by February end. Sorry.

And another month slips by with no word from Atlassian. Seriously guys?

With JIRA 7 dropping 11g support, implementing 12C support for Bamboo has become a whole lot more urgent for all enterprise customers.

When will 12c be supported? For my organization (government), we are required to move to 12c as there are significant security vulnerabilities within 11g. We use Bamboo as part of our continuous integration, but may have to drop the product if there is no 12c support in the near future.

you can not install bamboo on 12c. While creating tables and indices, bamboo throws exception.

Any updates on when support for Oracle 12c will be added? Most other Atlassian products already support 12c or appear to be adding support in their next release.

There are no known incompatibilities. But we're not testing with Oracle 12.
