While HipChat is great, our company widely uses Google Apps, including Google Talk (aka Hangouts) beyond the software team that uses Bamboo.

It would be great to have Google Talk notifications from Bamboo OnDemand as well, or perhaps more general XMPP support would suffice. (It is unclear to me what the Instant Messaging Address is used for if not for that - perhaps that is meant for XMPP, and Google just doesn't support that).

Also, this is at least documented for hosted Bamboo, so hopefully the answer isn't just to use HipChat...
