I have a Bamboo project that requires Plan Variables for both build and deployment stages.

DURING THE BUILD STAGE:

Both Automated and Manual builds are able to access and resolve my Plan Variables for any tasks created under the plan.

This is an example of a Plan Variable:
-D:build.version=${bamboo.PWSIMS_VERSION} 

NOTE: I am using continuous integration so Automated builds are generated every time I check in a change to source control using GIT.

DURING THE DEPLOYMENT STAGE:

Only Releases created from Manual builds are able to access and resolve my Plan Variables (ie bamboo.PWSIMS_VERSION) for any tasks created under the deployment definition.

Any Releases created from an Automated build end up loosing all Plan Variables, thus causing the Deployment project to fail.
