Variable override during the release of JIRA version does not work

When releasing JIRA version, there is an option to trigger a build in Bamboo with the option to override variable (both global and plan) as explained in this doco: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRA/Running+a+Bamboo+Build+when+Releasing+a+Version The overridden variable does not get changed in Bamboo and the custom variables remained undefined. Workaround
In the release JIRA version screens, drop the variable by clicking the thrash bin next to the variable name and choose the option to override variables again by clicking the pen icon.
